Our history in canine care goes back to our roots in conformation with our beloved Labrador Retrievers. Under the kennel name Quail Chase Labradors, this amazing breed has been an integral part of our family for over 30 years. Sun Dog Farms was created out of hope and inspiration after life changing events touched both our human and canine families.
In March of 2019, Tina was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer and given 2-5 years to live. Then without warning, that same year cancer would take two of our beloved Labradors. Simply, the worst year of our lives. But a miracle of sorts came our way in the form of a new chemotherapy drug…4 months and 16 treatments later Tina was 95% cancer free and getting stronger! This is when CBD products were introduced to us as a possible benefit for Tina’s long term care. It was then we committed to learning everything we could about CBD and it’s benefits for a healthier life for ourselves an our dogs.
Just a few years, ago CBD products were new to the market and shrouded in controversy. The Hemp/CBD market is not yet federally regulated which means minimal supportive science, restrictive transparency and limited funding. These past 5 years we’ve researched, tested and used CBD and hemp products on ourselves and our dogs in many forms. The knowledge we’ve gained and relationships we’ve made within the industry allowed us to realize the dream of bringing our own premium line of CBD products to the market. Our CBD products are the finest quality available for humans or pets. We would not give our dogs anything of less quality than we would give ourselves and most of the dog lovers, breeders, handlers and owners we know feel the same.
Our philosophy's on canine care and training have evolved over the years. Despite having more than a few dogs of our own, we enjoy living with our dogs in our home and the lessons we've learned from them became the foundations of Sun Dog Farms. From the design of the kennel to the care and training philosophies we use everyday, Sun Dog Farms brings all that we've learned to our community in a safe, loving and structured environment.
Decades of raising and caring for competitive show dogs as members of our family has shaped how we care for our boarding dogs. Our Pet guests are not restricted to a minimum numbers of times outside or scheduled potty breaks. They actually spend a "minimal" amount of time in their kennels mainly to sleep at night or when the staff is working with other dogs. With proper and ample supervision there is no need for guests to spend an abundance of time confined. We have open. relaxed spaces with optimum lines of sight and movement indoors and out. Multiple outdoor paddocks for enrichment and specific training, a large private swimming pool, even a dedicated retrieving paddock for exercise.
Our kennel spaces are all indoors surrounding a large common area for better socialization. All kennels are air conditioned and comfortable with views of the back yard paddocks and televisions from every space
